We list independent imaging clinics and established diagnostic groups, giving patients more choice and clinics a simple way to reach the people who need their services - with every enquiry reviewed by the clinic itself before anything is confirmed.
Many scans without waiting for a GP appointment
Many scans can be arranged without seeing a GP first. MRI, ultrasound and echocardiogram do not legally require a referral, so many clinics accept self-referral for those, although each clinic sets its own policy. CT, X-ray, DEXA and mammography use ionising radiation and legally require a referrer under IR(ME)R 2017, which a clinic’s own clinician can often provide. Search for clinics, compare their published information and send an enquiry directly to the clinic you choose.
Prices come from each clinic
Where a clinic has published a price, we show it exactly as they gave it to us, with no mark-up and no booking fee added by us. Where a clinic has not published one yet, we show TBC rather than invent a figure, and the clinic confirms the cost with you before anything is arranged.
Which scans can you find on FindScan?
We list over 300 clinics across seven types of scan, from routine imaging to specialist diagnostics. Coverage varies by scan: MRI is the most widely offered, followed by CT, ultrasound and X-ray, while fewer clinics offer DEXA and echocardiogram.
