Corporate social responsibility

FindScan is a small, early stage company. This page describes what we actually do rather than what we aspire to, and we will add to it as the company grows.

Access to diagnostics

Our reason for existing is that finding a private scan in the UK is harder and less transparent than it should be. We publish the clinic's own price where there is one, we do not add a mark up, and we do not charge a booking fee. Where no price is published we say so instead of estimating.

Honest information

Our guides cite named sources, including NICE, NHS England and the Royal College of Radiologists, so a reader can check a claim rather than take our word for it. We publish guidance that costs us money when it is the right thing to say. Our guide on whole body screening repeats the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists position that it is not recommended for healthy people, even though whole body scans are a product our listed clinics sell.

We do not use fabricated reviews or testimonials.

Patient data

Health data deserves more care than ordinary personal data. Clinical documents and imaging are stored in the European Union. Reports and referral documents are delivered by expiring secure link rather than as email attachments, and notification emails deliberately carry no clinical detail, only a reference and a link. Our policies set out what we collect and why.

Environment

We are a software company with no offices and no fleet, so our direct footprint is small. Our infrastructure runs in European data centres. We have not yet measured our emissions and we are not going to claim a number we have not measured.

How we work

We pay our suppliers on time. We do not use unpaid internships. As the team grows we will publish more here, including on pay and recruitment.
